Dr. Mac on Kaua'i!Aloha Kaua'i! I am Dr. Mac and I am here to help.

Do you need help setting up a new Apple iMac, MacBook, iPod or iPhone?
Are you having trouble with your older Apple Macintosh product?
Is your iTunes/iPhoto library getting too big?
Do you need to install another Hard Drive, more RAM, or other hardware or software?
Want to record music or make DVDs?
System crashed?

I can help.

Perhaps you are new to computers, or just the Mac OS X platform and need help getting settled and functional. Maybe you need to transfer files from your older PC to your new Mac....

I can help with that too!

Whatever you need help with on your Mac, I can help. I am not a certified Apple technician and I'm not a grumpy old IT guy. I'm a young, self-taught, intelligent, friendly Mac-lovin' geek. I do have a BA in Digital Media Arts which means that I use Macs a lot and have had to troubleshoot them quite often.

A Mac can be just as finicky as a PC - don't think they can't! All computers have problems eventually. I can solve them for you and help relieve your stress.

The Doctor is In!

The DocThe Doc is an expert when it comes to the Apple Macintosh. He has a degree in Digital Media. He loves music and photography. He is young, driven, and passionate about life. The Doc works in the multimedia industry and, as expected, uses Apple computers quit a bit. Simply put - one learns by doing. The Doc first used Apple computers in the mid-80s as a kid, mostly playing Oregon Trail. Now he uses them to record and mix music, edit and produce video, graphics and even this website (no major feat I know).
Over the years he’s learned that despite their reputation, Apple Mac computers do fail sometimes. Of course they only tend to fail when you need them most. The Doc understands that sometimes the difference between getting a job done, and thus getting paid, relies on your computer to  function properly. When it doesn’t, or to prevent it from failing - call The Doc!What can The Doc do for you?

What Can the Doc do for you?

Back Up your Mac
People don’t realize how important their data is until its gone. It can and will happen to you at some point if you are not careful. Let the Doc asses your system and advise you on how to go about archiving your data.

Networking
If you have a family of Mac’s then why not let them talk to each other?  The Doc can set up a wireless home network for you so that you can stay connected while in the comfort your favorite chair. The Doc can even set up wireless printing and iTunes music for you.

iLife support (iTunes - iPhoto - iMovie - iDVD - iWeb - Garageband)
Apple’s iLife suite, included free with every mac, is a great example of why the Mac is so successful. iLife is a suite of applications capable of creating any kind of media content you could imagine. And the best thing is that they are intuitive and easy to use. However, like all software, it does take some time to become familiar with it. If you are coming from the PC world and are used to certain programs or conventions you may have some difficulty understanding the simplicity and elegance that the iLife suite delivers. Let the Doc unlock the mystery and show you how to use iLife like a pro!

System Optimization
After time things start going haywire. That’s just how computers are. There are millions of files on your computer and thousands of functions happening simultaneously. They need some TLC every so often, just like a car needs a tune up. Depending on how you drive, or how long since your last tune up you may need a major overhaul! If you have an older system let the Doc evaluate what can be done to increase your Mac’s overall performance. Some times a complete re-installation of the Operating System (OS) is recommended. Often at that time it will also be upgraded to the latest version and a back up made of important data.

Hardware & Software Installation
The Doc may recommend that you add more memory (RAM), or perhaps you’d like to install a larger Hard Drive. Maybe you’d like to make home movies but your older mac doesn’t burn DVDs. Let the Doc install and configure all of your peripherals for you. If you have an older machine still running Mac OS 9, let the Doc upgrade you to Mac OS X.

...and Much Much More!
The Doc can solve just about any Mac related issues. If you have a question give him a call or
E-mail. He’ll be happy to diagnose your problem!
